Our Story
Hi, my name is Gemma and I am the founder of House of Paws Disabled Pet Supplies. Welcome to our website, we are delighted to have you here!
Our online store was established to simplify the process of sourcing equipment for disabled pets. Our inspiration for this venture was Sunny, our beautiful rescue dog, who joined the family in November 2021.
From rescue to inspiration
While searching for a little brother or sister for our Sprocker, Harley, we stumbled upon Sunny's sweet face. We were immediately drawn to him, but we also noticed that he was a wheelchair user. He had been hit by a car as a puppy and never received proper care or treatment. However, he was rescued in Macedonia by a fantastic charity and flown to the UK, where he was placed in foster care.
Despite the lack of use in his rear legs, Sunny did not let that stop him from being an active and playful pup. He was a little boy on a mission to achieve freedom to run, and he can certainly run like the wind!
Turning challenges into opportunities
After Sunny became a permanent member of our family, we encountered difficulty in finding the necessary equipment to support him in building strength and muscle in his hind legs and hips. Additionally, as Sunny was double incontinent, sourcing reasonably priced belly bands proved challenging. We recognised the need to make a difference, no matter how small, and decided to take action to help others in similar situations.
